Description of Tasks Click on this link: Wiki Writing Rubric to see exactly what is expected of you, what good, fair, and poor work looks like, and to assess your own work.
· Publish: Your task is to publish your writing on the class wiki. Other students will then revise and edit your work. Be sure to check back in a day or two to follow the discussion (use the “discussion” tab to communicate with other students working on the same page) and examine any changes which have been made to your writing. You may also decide to make changes yourself. · Revise: Your task is to improve the content of the writing that has been published on the wiki. You don’t need to worry about spelling or grammar. Rather, you are responsible for making the content of the writing better. This means adding any information that the writer may have missed, including appropriate quotes from the story, correcting any information that the writer may have gotten wrong, making the writing flow better by adding transition words, or restructuring the writing so that it is more understandable to the reader. · Edit: your task is to correct the mechanics of the writing that has been published on the wiki. This means identifying and correcting spelling, basic grammar, and punctuation mistakes. It is important that you return to the wiki more than once, as it is possible that the writing will have been added to or changed in some way. You are responsible for editing all changes.
How to Work:
Click on the short story you wish to work on from the menu on the left side of the page. On the story page, click on the Key Aspect links you wish to read or contribute to. Here you can publish, revise, or edit writing by clicking the “Edit” button.
Use the “Discussion” tab to communicate with the other students working on the page: other publishers, the student(s) responsible for revising your work, or with the editor(s).
When you have finished working, just click “Save” and your work will become part of the wiki.
